This depiction of Teetskin (thunderbird) is meant to embody the resiliency, the perseverance of the residential school survivors, while honouring the ones who were taken from us. Teetskin is a symbol for their freedom, but also the leadership of future generations, as he showed us how to hunt whales. It is fitting to say the residential school survivors are showing us how to persevere.
