This piece shows Teetskin (thunderbird) hunting a whale. We Nuu-Chah-Nulth are renowned for our whaling culture. Teetskin (thunderbird) was the one who shared with our people the way of hunting whales, and bestowed sacred gifts to our people in order to hunt them. This piece is a tribute to Teetskin (thunderbird) in thanks for sharing that knowledge with our people.
